Facing an abundance of solid competitors, ranging from rap and r&b artists to solo guitarists, Detroit rapper Versatyle displayed his confidence in himself from the moment he arrived to the WhoHottaThanMe Talent Competition’s finals held at Blondie’s Nightclub in Detroit on September 17th, 2011. The first thing he said as he saw me take my place at the judges table was “I’m ‘bout to kill it tonight, Nitty, I got this”! Ironically enough, he was the only competitor (of nearly 30 acts) confident enough to verbalize his self-confidence for anyone willing to lend an ear, and consequently, he won!

Versatyle’s performance, complete with background dancers, was entertaining on a level that showed an artist who was ready for the next level past just rapping at local venues in front of just local artists. The performance, which offered a variety from displaying lyrical ability to straight dance music to get the crowd moving, had a concert feel to it and seemed to be very well rehearsed. For his winning performance he was rewarded a $10,000 prize package which included a disclosed cash prize, a high definition video, a one year contract with the WhoHottaThanMe Talent Agency, distribution to over 150 digital stores, an album recorded and distributed nationwide courtesy of SMG/Bungalo Records, touring opportunities and much more.

Motivated by his undying desire to succeed as a rap artist (with a little r&b flare), Versatyle has kept himself continuously performing as well as working with any and all willing other talented local artists like J-Hussle of Str8tDrop Entertainment, Lee of Detroit’s Most Wanted, Malik of Chedda Boys, T-Dub-O of 3 1/3rd Entertainment, Young Zeek of Royalty Gang and many more. Currently, Versatyle is working on releasing a single titled “Lovin Tonight” featuring rappers J-Hussle and Capp from Smokebox Records, as well as working on a reality show called “Detroit Unsigned” produced by CloudVision.

One of Versatyle’s latest releases, titled Chillian Like A Villian featuring local rapper Don P, truly offers new listeners/fans a verbal display of his crafty style and wordplay blend.
